We also hope that it will bind you closer to your present friends, that they may not be forgotten later on. Now with great pleasure we present to you the 1964 EAGLE. 4 DEDICATION It is with love and admiration that we, the Staff, dedicate the 1964 EAGLE to Mrs. Gladys Flood. In the eight years she has been at D.C.H.S., Mrs. Flood has shown an intense desire to make it a better and more outstanding school. Under the leadership of Mrs. Flood, our Student Council was founded in 1956. She also sponsors the State and National Honor Societies. In the past she has sponsored the Annual and Science Clubs. These are but a few of the reasons why we wish to show our appreciation to Mrs. Flood for the many things she has done for D.C.H.S. J. E. CLANTON, TOM CHOWNING, W. P. BUTCHER l , A. J. EVANS, Principal Del City High School students are for- tunate to be citizens of a community that continually strives to provide the best educa- tional opportunities possible for its young people. The buildings, equipment, and other physical facilities represent months and years of dedicated effort by the board of education, the administration, faculty, and parents. Your appreciation for these provisions is truly expressed by most of you through your great pride in Del City High School and your excellent school spirit. Whether you succeed or fail in the fu- ture depends largely on how well you apply yourself now to the opportunities afforded by your high school and community. The habits you acquire in high school will likely chart the course of your entire life. Congratulations to the 1963-64 Eagle Staff, for this excellent portrayal of the 1963-64 schoolyear at Del City High School. I FRANCES ALBRIGHT ,ff t Secretary To the students of Del City High, Mr. Griffitts is a symbol of friendship and guid- ance. The Eaglette pep club helped raise school spirit by attend- ing the football and basketball games and by sponsoring pep assem- blies at school on the days of the big games. Pep club members pro- moted pep rallies at the D.Q. the night preceding the big games. The pep club also took part in the homecoming festivities of the football and basketball teams. The beautiful scenery during the half-time ceremony is made pos- sible by the time and energy spent by the hard-working Eaglettes. As all of you have discovered by now, this year's EAGLE is quite different from the annuals of past years. We changed to this type of yearbook to have bigger pictures and a much neater yearbook. This change has involved a great deal of extra work, but we are sure you will agree with us that it was well worth the extra effort. We sincerely hope that you, the stu- dents of D. C. H. S. , will enjoy this edition of the EAGLE. May it bring you many plea- sant memories of the past year at D.C.H. S. As editors, we have done everything possible to make the 1964 EAGLE an annual of which to be proud. We hope it will bring you much pleasure in the years to come. Sincerely yours, Q55 9?
