These men gathered to decide who would take home the coveted America's Cup. For the 132 years prior to 1983, the cup had remained in the sole possesion of the New York Yacht Club. But this year, the man who lost the cup in '83, won it back from the Australians with- out suffering a single loss. Because Dennis Cormer and his boat Stars and Stripes, easily won the America's Cup in four straight races against the defending Aus- sie team, some felt that it made for a rather boring spectacle.
