Confzdent .294 sf , ,puffy ,ylily it : A if Among the most exciting aspects of being a drum major, majorette, flag twirler, or drill team member is that of competing against fellow participants in a competition such as the one hosted by Rio Americano March Znd. Although photographs were prohibited, our photographer managed a few quick ones to capture the flag team performing a routine worthy of a valuable second place and drum major Rob Diamond receiving fourth place. Also attending the Western States Championship were the Drill Team, grabbing a coveted third place, and head majorette Kim Kviek. Although some don't always agree with the judging, it is worth it to witness the spirit still alive and kicking in many high schools from all over Northern California. A week earlier Ygnacio Valley High School held a competition in which the flag team placed sixth out of nineteen, drill team got fifth out of eighteen, drum major got an impressive eighth out of thirty three, and the songleaders put on an impressive performance for the audience.

A large pumpkin and cornstocks adorned the entrance to the 1973 Homecoming on October 6th, Moon Dance. Our Joy provided the music, enhancing the aura of sparkle and magic prevailing at this unforgettable event. Last year's Homecoming Queen, Pam Wilson, crowned the King and Queen, Jeff Anderson and Patti Kast, dancing in the royal dance, bottom right.

Our drama Two and Three students took an excellent rating, with a silver award going to Lani Fuzzesery and a special judge's award going to Steve Dooner.
