Developing A Style Painting and drawing was a way of unifying thoughts and ideas, into a compatible balance of colors and shapes, for many Del Campo students. Different media were used to obtain this balance. Lyn Warren foppositej a Sr. and third year art student used bright colored tissue paper to convey her ideas on canvas. Barbara Sherrard, C. A. Johnson, and Anne Solomon used subjects in their paintings fbelowj that were best suited to their style and the media they were using. Although painting appeared to have a more prominent standing in art, drawing, nevertheless, was a basic and important step in extending an art education. Mark Cox's, L. Mclntire's, and Grace l-lood's drawings lbottom rightl all show some of the basic understanding that was needed before painting could be handled responsibly. ,- , . ,f-

Sculpture has opened many new doors to art. The use of wire, papier maehe, clay, and other materials gives the student never ending possibilities of originality. Cliff Robson uses clay in the series of figures lbelowj to show the making of a ear. Like Cliff's sculpture, Bob Sehultz's foppositel is made of clay. but Bob chose a form very independent of complimentary devises. The wire sculpture lbottoml by an unknown sculptor tends to give rise to the potentiality of free movement by the figure. .354-
