District tudent Council Many Del Campo students became interested in District Student Council as a result of the three day Hlfall District-Width Student Leadership Conferencen held in October at Camp Arcade. The conference consisted mainly of 'liaslc Forces which concerned themselves with such possibilities as Communications, Alternative Education, and Sex Education, where students worked and searched together for practical ways to apply these new ideas into our present educational system. However, the growth of these ideas did not end with the conference, but continued at District Student Council meetings every other VV:-dnesday. Interesting results came from some of these Task Forces. From the Communications Task Force, who's purpose was to hetter the communication gap hetween the high schools, came a District Newsletter which was distrihuted to all of the high schools in the district. This newsletter contained District Student Council news, individual high school news, and any other educational 9+ aim., sm. wil o . X5 'K' . 'X ei.:-Q9 ,, sc- Y to V.:,:a 5,f5 -ffl? X . ,a

news that effected students. The Inter- School Communications committee was a result of the Task Force, Student Council: ls it needed? headed by Steve Lady. Within this committee, students exchanged schools for a day in order to observe the differences and similarities in which each school was run, and to possibly find new ideas in which their school could benefit. For example, because of itls success at other schools within the district, Del Campo's Student Advisory Committee distributed surveys concerning the possibility of A-Pass-Fail grading in the Girl's P.E. Department. Top left: Steve Lady talks with D.S.C. President, Peggy Swenson during a General Assembly meeting.
