Q School Times -Fun Times . 1 Being in school for nine months out of the year doesn't mean you have to sit in classes and study all of the time. Pep assemb- lies, media center, the commons, lunch, and outside by the bell are all areas that give students a chance to unwind and relax. l Pep assemblies allow students to partake in school spirit. Some - pep assemblies that took place at the beginning of the year were for homecoming and others honored winter and spring sports par- ticipants. The commons and lunch l time gave students a time to catch up on news, finish homework, and to pig-out. A T i lt .V Senior football players Dave Franzene, seated, top ii I left, and Mark Rybicki. All Around School Many moods set the atmosphere at DeKalb High School from blowing bubbles while talking on the telephone to working hard on studies in the commons. Walking in the hallways one will see students occupied in many different areas. Working on graphic materials, technical drawing, foods classes, woods projects, child care and clothing courses. DHS has all the quality programs a high school needs. As for activities, some sports were on the line for a while this year, but fortunately enough student participa- tion and community support made it possible to keep the sports. DeKalb has always been near or at the top in its conference. Without sports programs many students would have been let down. Greg Greer, right, spins a basketball on his finger.
