A Fashionable Year This year the fashions were different and unique. The styles ranged from the preppy look to the wild punk-out style. However, everyone was satisfied with their comfortable clothes, too. Shoes and socks were in this year. Girls wore their pumps, boots, mocassins, duck shoes, jazz shoes and socks to match. The guys wore tennis shoes, docksiders, high tops and Turf shoes even if they were not out for football. Short hair was commonly seen this year, with hair cut out around the ears, hair spiked on top or permed. No, cats and dogs were not the only ones with tails, the tail, either braided, dyed blond, or curly was a unique fad this year. Val Boey and Cindy Crawford, right, model the Flash Dance look, a style very popular this year. Below: Current hairstyles are shown by, left, Donna Hertzner, middle, Shannon George, and right, Tim Fieitan. .gl

Mickey Mouse Joins Homecoming Homecoming week was a great success with the whole school joining a Walt Disney theme, When You Wish Upon A Star. Students and teachers par- ticipated in the dress-up days which included Wear What Dare day. Senior and junior girls took to the football field for the annual powder puff football game. A 26-26 tie was the outcome. Friday's pep rally and parade proudly displayed the king and queen and their court. Jenny Diedrich and Phil Ewell reigned over the homecoming to make the week a bigger success. The varsity Barbs defeated the Elgin Maroons 28-O, in the homecoming game. The dance featuring Fan- Fare ended the week of fun and tiring activities. 12!Homecoming Varsity football team captains Steve Young, Stefan Noe and Bill Cordes, top left, are driven by teammate Jon O'Donnell in the homecoming parade.
