Pickett, J. Henneasee, J. Toppeng ROW 9: C. Sloan, D. Melms, M. Dionisopoulos, S. Klttleson, D. Moody, M. Setchell, Mr. Pickett. Lead by Steve Kittleson, the '81 Barb golf team capped a tremendous season by finishing second in the IHSA state meet. Kittleson, who tied for eighth individually, fired rounds of 74 and 81 for a two-day total of 155. The team missed first by only one point, 634-633. The second place finish was the best in Barb history. Dave Melms played a major role in this year's success. He won both Upstate Eight and District individual titles aiding the team to both championships. Kittleson and Melms were elected MVP's of the '81 team. Adding to the success were the team chapmionships in the Dixon, Barrington and St. Bede invitationals.
