Many students gave up ix their own lunch periods to assist in this service. I The Student Body is represented by this group, which was led by George Carr. The Citizenship, Safety, Publicity, Finance, and Social Committees, work on the fine points of various problems. These groups help to have a more effective student government. Q We Vilvgwi 5 1' '- , fa! irq Q Q f , fi x Q 1 ,, , ,V ffunzautgf 1 I J 'Q Q P54 eachfzs Ill g: wa-Qs' 'Mei ' We of the Kalibre staff would like to join voices with the students, administration, and townspeople in giving special Commendation to Mr. George Dertinger and Mr. Paul Furr, who have devoted so many years of service to our school and our community. 1--? v GEORGE DERTINGER PAUL FURR After seventeen years as head basketball coach at DeKalb High George Dertinger has announced his retirement from this position He has to his credit many successful seasons and he also holds the distinction of having coached the only team ever to represent our high school in the state tournament Mr Dertinger will remain on the staff as a history teacher and as baseball coach However we will all miss his exuberance on the basketball Court Mr Paul Furr is retiring thls year as agricul tural instructor for our high school He has seen two generations in the 38 years he has taught the science of the better farming After leaving his classroom here Mr Furr will take a position with the DeKalb Agricultural Association and will contribute again to better farming .
