The T954 Defiance thinclads retained their track crown by taking five first places in the NWOL League Track Meet. Gary Rohrbaugh got firsts in the T20-yard high hurdles and 180-yard low hurdles, Gary Mix took first in the TOO-yard dash, Gorden Draper placed first in the Shot Put, and the 880-yard relay team, consisting of Jerry Meyers, Bruce Goss- man, Bill Hultz, and Gary Mix, came in first. The squad also won three out of five regular season meets. At the Bowling Green District Track Meet, the 440-yard relay team, made up of Jerry Meyers, Larry Morris, Bruce Gossman, and Bill Hultz, finished second. GOLF... The Bulldog golf squad, after losing their first dual match, finished the season with five straight victories to bring Defiance High School another spring sports championship. After the regular schedule, they climaxed their fine season by winning the league meet held at Napoleon with a record 515 score for a six-man team. The golfers also participated in the Mont- pelier lnvitational and the Toledo District and finished fifth and eleventh, respectively. Mr. Gecowets coached the squad through the season.
