Ellen Kohart Spring itself is an excuse for mild madness but when it comes to the fabulous Ford house- hold anything can happen-and it does. Mr. Ford decided to enjoy his first vacation in years at home and life for father would be more peaceful in a boiler factory. Mrs. Ford decided she is going to have her annual cause, this time it is enlightening the world by becoming a radio commentator. Bianca Ford comes home for her spring vacation with a new fiance, Sutton Colby, Ir., son of the prominent Senator, and his sister who sits on the floor and discusses her previous incarnation. They choose to arrive via airplane crash in the Ford backyard. The boy next door who loves Bianca decides to make her jealous by pretending he is smitten with floor sitting Phyliss and, much to his horror Phyllis really falls for him. Young Iudy Ford gets ar- rested as a bank robber just as Senator Colby arrives and all the occupants of the house face jail sentences. Into all this comes Mrs. Ford's idol, Lavinia Dragon, the famous analyst who in addition to being near-sighted is madder than any of the Fords. In fact the new maid who was sent by the agency to work for a man recently released from an insane asylum re- fuses to believe she has wandered into the wrong house. FUOTB LL CHAM S A charging line and hard-running backs resulted in a fine season for the Defiance High School gridders this year. The season was very much hampered by a polio epidemic which brought the original nine game schedule down to seven games. Despite this, however, Defiance again became Northwest Ohio League champs. Nineteen letterman made up the bulk of the playing team, fourteen of whom were seniors. The games as a whole were all hard fought, Defiance coming from behind to win in all contests but the Fostoria and Lima South games, making the sea- son's record 5 wins and 2 losses. Napoleon was played in the last tussle of the season with the league title at stake. The Bulldogs, in the pouring rain on a water soaked field, drove through to victory.
