Seniors Portia Peters, Larry Manahan, Gene Kershner, Lois Weakley, As we look back over our four years at Defiance High School our minds are filled with recollections which are a mixture of work and fun. We began our careers as green freshmen under the guidance of Mr. Blue, our adviser. That year we elected as our leaders Lois Stenger, president, Bruce Derricotte, vice-president, Larry Manahan, secretary, and Evelyn Mayer, treasurer. We earned our way by checking hats and coats during the basketball season and enjoyed ourselves at a picnic and skating party at Power Dam Park. The next year we elevated our- selves to the place of experienced Sophomores. Mr. Fallon took over and we elected Gene Kershner our presi- dent with Bill McClymonds as vice-president. Bill Seyboldt served as secretary and Charles Stenger took in the money. Our main entertainment that year was skating parties and parties of various natures in the Community Room. At last we were sophisticated lwe thoughtj Juniors. This was the year of our first big play, June Mad. Mr. Hultz proved to be the guiding hand this time. Pauline Behrman, president, Ralph Jacobs, vice-president, Bruce Derricotte, secretary, and Gene Hoeffel, treasurer were chosen at the elections. Our financial project was the concessions at all basketball games. A big party at Perry's Pleasant Place along with the usual skates gave us the social background. And then here we are Seniors! To Miss Carter we extend our greatest appreciation for guiding us through our last year at D. H. S. The year was packed full of excitement. We enjoyed a most event- ful hayride. We worked hard taking care of the concessions at the football games and put on a most successful play, Moonlight for Herbert . We chose as our officers Larry Manahan, president, Gene Kerschner, vice-president, Portia Peters, secretary, Lois Weakley, treasurer. And so ends four great years as the class of 1946.
