In February we had the honor of helping move to the new school building We were quite proud because lt meant that we were to be the first ones to have a play and a junior senior banquet in the new Now came the most important year of school In order to earn more money we gave a three act play, 'Brother Goose , by William Davidson It was a success because of the capable direction of Niss Norma E Ryman The time finally came for the junior senior banquet After many discussions we finally decided on the theme, 'May Day Festival ' W decorated the hall with long streamers extending from the large lay pole in the center of the floor We also decorated the ticket booth to look like a throne for the May Queen and her Myrtle Tackett, Judy Hagler, Ervin Ploeger, and toastmistress for the evening was Joan Stengel by Stanley Tackett, Keith Jones, and Mr by Jimmie Merz, a vocal solo by Vaxine Joan Stengel The junior class sang two attendants who were Scott Downing The Speeches were given A reading was given and a piano solo by Smith Corbett, numbers all our senior year This year the membership of our class decreased Maxine Corbett left us to take up housekeeping with Gilbert Merz, and after the first six what was the matter with our class but evidently they must have had the 'Love Bug Itch,' or something We now have five girls and one boy This year our officers were president, Jack Randolph, vice president, Melda Moreland, secretary, Luella Ploeger, and treasurer, Jim le Merz Our sponsors were Mr Smith and Mrs, B111 Schafer W were very proud to have our only senior boy, Jack Randolph, be chosen as Mr DHS' at the junior box supper We presented our senior play, 'Three Blind Dates , by Betty Knapp, on November 10, 1950 This play was again directed by Miss Ryman We spent most of the year working on the annual and selling ads Melda Moreland was our annual editor and Jimmie Merz was the assistant editor We chose as our class colors, lavender and yellow, and our flower is the daffodil Our motto is 'The best day for doing the best is the one that comes seven times a week ' We are all planning to have a good time on our senior trip to New Orleans We wish to express our appreciation to the school board and the people of the community who have made this trip possible We are all happy to have completed our four years of high school, but we will never forget the good old days in DHS We are also very eager to look ahead and see what the future might bring N - i . e weeks, Stanley Tackett left us to marry Lora Dee Bell.
