He will be missed not only for his superior coaching but for his warmth and friendliness as well 1 Q' , . ..,. , . . T ie gun of A 81 M was our loss for he was our coach seven and one-half years. He came in 1952 as an assistant coach. In 1954, he became head coach. Wfhile he was here we won seventy eight games lost nine, and tied seven. Under his leadership, we won two consecutive state cmmpioinships' in 1954 andA1955 In both 1953 and 1956, vw w tt tl X 1 ' A--f' ' ' '- ' ' ' ' ' 4 en o ic qu 11 tu 1l'hllS. Ft w schools can boast of such tl gratifying record. We give due credit to the winning teams and, also, to the coach whose leadership and guidance was so greatly responsible. Mr. Hughes, we are wishing you much success and happiness. You will always be remembered as both a coach and a friend. Farewell, Shorty.
