JARRETT, all fearless, bloodthirsty daredevils out for adventure. Bringing up the rear with a typewriter, an adding machine, and a bottle of aspirin is MAXINE LEISINGER, their chief cook and bottle-washer. Back to the European continent and on to Russia! There they spot MAX PACE cutting holes in the Iron Curtain with a can opener. As their space ship will not fit through any of the holes, they travel on foot to meet the newly-installed leaders of the country, BOBBY REEVES and all his able comrades: JIMMY SAPP, HOWARD VICK, HERBERT LAAKE. Since these men are peace-loving Democrats, their positions are very precarious. Their chief scientist, LYNN URBAN, is away in Siberia making experiments for the Cold War. Off to a warmer climate, they arrive in the Hawaiian Islands to the rythmic strains of Cindy Lou. He-re they talk to DONALD ROYALL, chief surf-board rider, who tells them about the great beach comber, JOHNNY SCHEER. Again, they blast off. This time for the good old U.S.A. But, alas, because of engine trouble, the expedition is forced down in the great rubber producing country, Malaya. While repairs are being made, they spend the night at the home of BARBARA ISBELL, the co-owner of a rich rubber plantation which produces the basic ingredient for Triple-Trouble Bubble Gum. That's the company that sponsors the T.V. program starring JANICE HAR- MAN, the triple-trouble, singing beauty. Again, they soar toward the United States and home. What an honor to be greeted by LAVONDA WELLS, now principal of D. P. H. S. She always said the principal's office was her favor- ite haunt. Visiting the school today, checking the children's teeth is Dr. WILBERT BIGOTT and his assistant, PEGGY VICKERY. QThe teachers always said getting work out of Wilbert was like 'pulling teeth.'D Good old low-hanging atmosphere and chemical plants! They all had a wonderful time conducting the World Review , but each one was glad to be back in Deer Park. By the way, their report was that the world was progressing! 28 l

unior Snheritance oannouncement by way o eniorc qoill We, the class of l956, in the town of Deer Park, the county of Harris, and the great state of Texas, being in as good health as can be expected after twelve grueling years of study, and in a state of mind befitting forty-eight seniors who are about to pass away, do make and publish this, our last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by us at any time heretofore made. Owing to a lightness in the head, caused by its gradual swelling during the last four years, and a heaviness in the heart and other vital organs, caused by thoughts of parting and over-feasting, respectively, We are preparing for the 24th day of May in the year of 1956, at which time we shall pass away, Thusly, do we declare our wishes as to the final disposal of ourselves and markedly intimate and personal possessions: Therefore, we do first direct that our funeral services shall be conducted by our friends and well-wishers, the faculty, only enjoining that the funeral be carried on with all the dignity and pomp that our situation in Deer Park High School has merited. To Tazie McDade, BARBARA ISBELL leaves her 'lwater-fountain tech- nique. GARY HAJII BABA HODGE wills his harem to Don Copeland and Marshall Borel. SONDRA GROUNDS leaves her love for the band to Bud Hilliard. JOSEPHINE CHICK ESPINOZA leaves her homemaking ability to Martha Johnson. LYNN URBAN leaves her ability to take boys lightly to Shirley Tramel. JIMMY STEAMBARGE leaves his permanent spot in the office to Stanley Kelley. To the Junior Class, STANLEY WHITAKER leaves all the money spent for the gas that he used by driving Lou Adele's car at lunch period. INADON TRAMEL wills her dimples to Jo Etta Whatley. BARNEY SMITH leaves his ability to avoid school after football season to Marshall Smith and Steve Stephenson. JOHNNY SCHEER leaves his medals, which he hopes will still be unscratched, to Shirley Barnett, who will be expected not to scratch them. 30
