Karen Cooper, Secretary SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Ken Johnson, Vice-President JOYCE DRY, Treasure' James Schenz, President We, the seniors of Deer Park High, upon whose shoulders rest the burdens of leadership, humbly strive to fulfill our bounded duties and to seek recognition in an ever-demanding society. In our memories shall always remain the fruitful years of study, and the loyal years spent cheering our teams on to victory. Let us recall our progress of a class. As freshmen, we tried to make it known that here is the class of '62, and wefre here to make and break all sorts of records. As sophomores, we began to realize that we must work as a uclassn to be successful. None of us will ever forget that fun-filled day when we experienced Sophomore Day at Coney Island. As Juniors we sought our independence from the ranks of the ordinary by adopting a fresh, modern design for our class rings. We broke further records by selling more magazines than ever before, thus producing, in our minds, the greatest prom ever before, 'cSurf and Shadows. Among our cherished memories shall always remain the fun and frolic of the un- forgettable Parkers of 762, our Senior trip to Washington, which was, believe it or not, educational as well as inspiring, our Senior Day, filled with tears, memories, and a hollow feeling that has never been equaled before. As Graduation Day approached, each senior began to feel that anticipation and in some ways remorse for the coming event. So, now as the class of '62 leaves behind it, the memories, fun and study and Deer Park High School, may we express our thanks to teachers and faculty and hope that future classes may find too the hope, inspiration, knowledge and memories that we have found. RD o l85 We, the 1962 Antler Staff, hope that you enjoyed looking through your yearbook. We have tried to catch glimpses here and there of the past year, so that in years to come the activities of our 1962 school year will not dim and will not fade from your memory. The book is finished and the year has drawn to a close. Ahead lies summer vacation, summer jobs, and for many the plans and preparation for higher learning and a college education. Many of you will return in the fall to start a new book of memories. To you we say Good Luck and Much Success. Before we end our book we would like to thank our advisor, Mr. Norman Yonce. Mr. Yonce worked harder and longer than anyone else to get the book in print. He not only supervised but worked right along with us. Besides a teacher and advisor, he became a real friend. And now as the halls grow dim and the classrooms quiet, we hope, in later years, while turning these pages, if you should recall the many smiles, sorrows, and dreams of '62, we shall be content, knowing we have done the thing we were called upon to do.
