Combining good pitching and excellent defense along with steady, consistent hitting attach the Deer Park Wildcats have been extremely successful this year. In our first game Deer Park was beaten by the Close score of 3 to 1. Howaver, we regained our confidence by triumphng over Reading 2 to 1. The boys went on to win, other games of the season. Coach Bethel is well salished with the showing of the Wildcats this year. 24

M uch credit is due Coach Bethel for his eforts in the development of plays best suited for these fellows. Deer Park can look back at the 1944 season as an uphill struggle. Inexperience in the city school league was largely responsible for our adversities. However, we are looking for these fellows to really stand out in basketball in future years. 23

There is 710 girls5 track team this year, but the boys, team has entered the Millcreek Valley League.
