A victoryis not educational un- less you can compare it with the defeat you were escaping. You lose sight of that defeat unless it occas- ionally catches up with you. An occasional defeat brings your head down and re-teaches an old lesson: A living organism must struggle for its place in the sun or it perishes. We lost some close games this year against some good football schools, and I believe we have learn- ed our lesson well. Better prepara- tion, greater determinationg more sacrifice, and harder work. Winning is positive. Losing is negative. Let's always be positive! GO get 'em, Chiefs, go get 'em. MOST IMPROVED PLAYER Mike Wurmnest

BASKETBALL 1 The Varsity basketball team finished the 1966-67 season with a 9-17 record. Although the season was a long one, it did have some bright spots. The best game of the year for Dee Mack was 70 to 50 upset over San Jose. The most excitement took place in a five over- time Win over Stanford 34 to 32. Individual honors went to the following boys: Paul Mountjoy--Most Valuable Player and Co- captain. Joe Snyder-- Co-captain and most steals and assists. Jim Baurer--Lions Club Free Throw award A little higher, Paul. - v Look out behind you! Y 73 Teamwork, boys, teamwork
