Billy Albritton IXTH GR DE When school opened in the fall our class numbered thirteen boys and nine girls. Two of the boys, Billy Albritton and Larry Daniels, moved to Peoria, reducing our number to twenty pupils. Our home room teacher was Mr. Jacobs, with Mrs. Hammer teaching language arts and Mrs. Romersberger teaching music. Our class officers are Presidentg Jimmie Gilbert, Vice-Presidentg Susan Miller, Secretaryg Phyliss Kruse, and Treasurer: Dennis Kem. Ourclass was well represented in all of the school activities. Marian Hammer was cheer- leader and the band members numbered eight. FIFTH GR DE The fifth grade began the year with eleven girls and eight boys, Frank Betts entering from Peoria . In January, Dean Hess entered, making a total of twenty. In Octover everyone made a Halloween Poster. Carol Bell won first place, and Wilma Poole second, in the judging of fifth grade posters. All of the fifth grade took part in the Christmas Operetta Twe1ve Days of Christmas. The boys were pipers. The girls were milk-maids and dancers. After the all school Christmas party in the gym, Mrs. White, our room mother served punch, cookies, and ice cream. We then exchanged gifts. SEVE TH GRADE The seventh grade began the year with nine girls and ten boys. Mary Burden moved to MinierinDecember. KarenBetts was new in our class this year, having moved here from Peoria. Mrs. Hammer was home room teacher, and taught reading, spelling, language, and science. Mr. Jacobs taught geography in our room. Arithmetic was taught by Mr. Spencer. Officers for the year were: Presidentg Marilyn Drier, Vice-President: Billy Singleton, Secretarygloan Augsburger, Treasurerg Karen Betts, Librariansg Lois Wiegand and Dick Hubbard. Two of the school's cheerleaders were from our room. They were Marilyn Drier and Joan Augsburger, Most of the boys took active part in the softball and basketball games.
