Down to Earth, a three-act comedy fantasy was presented by the Senior Class of 1956. The prologue opens with Agnes and Wilfred descending to earth with Pilone, a mischevious would-be angelfwith one wingj tagging along offering trouble. He gets into much trouble and it looks as if the angels may be stranded on earth--the worst thing that could happen to an angel. Augusta Applegate, a wealthy and stubborn Spinster, and Herman Howell, a kindly, refined sailor, are the two elderly souls assigned to Agnes and Wilfred. Herman is ready to ascend from earth, but Augusta, who spent all her life making money,'isn't ready to part withher wealth. Augusta's nieces, Orpha Teel and Millie Bromsley, vainly try to get Augusta to leaveher money to them. Orpha needs the money to get a husband for her daughter Ruthie and Millie needs the money to help her husband Baxter get his inventions on the market. June, Mil.lie's daughter, wants Aunt Augusta to lend her and her husband-to-be, Richard White 81000, so that Richard can get started in the photography business. Pilone finds he has a strange power of making people fall in love by kissing them. He starts three couples romancing and manages to get Augusta to give her money away. Pilone ruins everything by kissing Herman and Augusta, and they take a strong grip on life. Finally, Diane, CAugusta's maid, and Pilone's one true lovey, who has just been jilted for the eleventh time, has an accident and qualifies as an angel. Pilone then decides to be a full fledged angel to be near Diana. He receives his other wing and as the final curtain closes, the four happy angels are concentrating on their ascent back to heaven.
