CLASS HISTORY In August, 1952, sixty frightened andexcited green freshmen were admitted to Deer Creek-Mackinaw High 2 School. In spite of senior threats, our initiation proved to be enjoyable, though rather unhealthy. Officers elected were: Danny Bennett, President, Louis Wurmnest, Vice-Presidentg Naomi Lamprecht, Secretaryg Betty Moser, Treasurerg Elsie Robison and DanThames, Student Council Representatives, Mrs. Sperry and Mr. Busing were our class sponsors. For our first party a potluck supper and dance sufficed. Forty freshmen returned in 1953 as sophomores. Class officers were elected as follows: President, Betty Moser: Vice-President, Louis Wurmnestg Secretary, Linda Mooberry, Treasurer, ,T une Millerg and Student Council Representatives, Dan Bennett, Dan Thames, and Cheryl Raymer. Mrs. Steingraber was our class sponsor. A roller skating party was held in November. A few members had difficulty in sitting through classes the next day. Thirty-six juniors chose Louis Wurrnnest, Presidentg Lora Jo Shonk, Vice-President, Naomi Lam- precht, Secretaryg Linda Mooberry, Treasurer, and Elsie Robison, Dan Thames, Tom Viemont, Student Council Representatives. Everyone worked hard to sell magabines for funds to give the seniors a swell prom. We also managed the concession stand at basketball games. Finders Creepers, the class play, was a big success. The Junior -Senior Prom with the theme Stardust occurred on May 14, 1955. Mrs. Nixon was our class sponsor. The remaining thirty-one seniors sought to avenge thewrongscommitted in '52 by initiating the fresh- man class of 1959. Class officers were: President, Bill Swiftg Vice-President, Ken Wiegandg Secretary, Lora Jo Shonkg Treasurer, Carol Robsiong and Student Council Representatives, Elsie Robison, Tom Vie- mont, Shirley Weindel, Dan Thames, Louis Wurmnest, and Dan Bell. We presented Down to Earth on November 9, 1955, as one of the big events of our senior year. In October class pictures were taken in Peoria, and in March the Tazewell County College Day was attended at Tremont. Our class sponsor was Mr. Busing. We are now looking forward with great anticipation to the prom, our class trip, and commencement. Then we will be going on to large responsibilities of career and marriage.
