Senior Tammie Beilin was pronounced DCLA's 1978-79 Football Homecoming Queen. Tammie was crowned by Senior-Captain Ty Cardwell (2). Ty then escorted Tammie to her place of honor. (3) They were followed by the rest of the candidates and their escorts. The gym grew quiet as it was announced that Rhonda Higginbotham is Queen, and Royce Hoemann is King. After the announcement, the traditional crowning ceremonies took place, with Royce placing the crown on Rhonda (4); then the traditional kiss (5); King Royce then presented Queen Rhonda with her boquet of roses. This year's flower girl was Robyn Brown and the crown bearer Travis Coleman.
