Track . . . Untavorable spring weather conditions hampered track practice. The team went to Mound. Carleton. and at district meets. The tollowing boys made up the track team: IOO yard dasheLarson and Froyd: 220 yard dash-Larson and Froyd: 440 yard dashe Bicktord: 880 distance-Hoicomb and Moe: mile distance-Hoekstra: 880 relay-- Froy. Larson. Kizer. Holcomb: high jump-Kinney and Pilkington: broad jumpePit- kington: discus--Van Guilder: pole vaulteTom Swenson: 200 yard low hurdles- Pilkington and Kizer: IIO yard high hurdles-Pilkington and Kizer: 440 yard relaye Froyd, Larson. Kizer. Holcomb: mile relay-Holden. MaCCaHum. Hoekstra. Moe: medley relay--Bicktord. Pilkington. Tweed. Holcomb: 2 mile relay-Gronli. Swenson, Jeffries. Dyer. Tennis . . . Deephaven tennis teams have long been recognized as Outstanding in District I8 and the present team is no exception. In the past three years 0t competition Deephaven has won sixteen games, tied one and lost three. Four lettermen, Dick Lee. Jim Schmid, Arvid Dahlbloom and Jerry Farmer. returned to bolster this year's team. One of the features of the season is a ladder tournament in which anyone may compete. Jane Martin leaves her tlirtatious ways to Jane Shanesy. Jim Moe leaves to join his twin brother. Mary Lou Mergens leaves Tom Ellertson to any girl who thinks she can take him away from her. Don Nordseth leaves his guffaws to Wally Van Guilder. Ruth Peters leaves Chemistry class . . . whew. Carol Rink leaves her nack ot neatness to LaVonne Krumwiede. Barb Sorvig leaves . . . still talking about Wayzata. Mildred Strachota leaves her journeys to school to Doris Johnson. Gerry Sumpter wills her blue eyes to Betty Brokke. - Don Thompson lcaves . . . in a cloud of dust. Bev Wendling leaves quietly. She doesn't want to be called back. Evelyn Wetzig wills her brains to any group who thinks they can equal them. Joyce Wiest leaves Mr. Henke to mimeograph his own tests.
