R. Herbig. Last tall nearly seventy students. many from Long Lake. Crystal Bay. Holy Name and Grove- land. enrolled as treshmen in Deephaven High. The large number made it necessary to divide the Class into two sections, with Miss Evelyn Neuman and Mr. Wayne Millard as advisors. The treshmen have formed several Clubs. in- cluding the Sports Club. the Photography Club. Pet Club, Nature Club. and the Home Arts Club. The Freshmen Class of l947 has a promising future and will surely play a prominent part in the school attairs in the years to come.

Home Sweet Home was the theme song of the Biology class the day they visited the St. Peter hospital for the mentally ill. Besides being a day ott trom school. the trip proved to be very interesting and educational. Betty Barnes. the secretary of the sophomore class, was selected from over 7.000 other school students by the Minneapolis Star and Tribune for her many outstanding qualities in leadership. citizenship. and marked proficiency as a carrier salesman. Betty is now the proud possessor of a year's scholarship to the U. of M. or any ac credited Upper Midwest school. l. Class officers at work. 2. Such a sweet pose. 3. Ave, shut up! 4. Don't be bashful.
