I 1 In 1952 about 50 of the present 42 seniors started out to fulfill their future. Miss Belle taught us the fundamentals that year. After being catchers for erasers, we finally won the first game. Linda and Brenda Parrish joined us that year. Mrs. Edith West and Miss Swan were our second grade teachers. We learned the three R's and the first steps of writing. This year we moved to a newer building. Martha Causey joined us then. Our third grade teachers were Mrs. Kennedy and Miss Swann.We enjoyed making puppets and giving puppet plays. Ida Jean Womble and Janet Thomas joined us in that year. In the fourth grade our teachers were Mrs. Kennedy and Miss McNeil. During that year we played hide with our teachers. Miss McCracken and Mrs. Lentz were our fifth grade teachers. Some of us went to Winston-Salem. Jerry Denkins joined us during that year. I Miss Cheek and Mrs. Lentz were our sixth grade teachers. We learned the social graces of manners, we also learned how to stuff our food into milk cartons. Dottie Holder joined us in that year. In the seventh grade our teachers were Mrs. Wicker and Mrs. High. We went to the State Fair on a trip and later on in the year we sold seeds. All through that year we accomplished blisters and zeros. Janet Gregson and Sharon Nutter joined us here. Our eighth grade teachers were Mrs. Wicker and Mrs. Fulton. That year we went to Chapel Hill and Durham. Linda Hedgpeth joined us. Mr. Bare and Mr. . Farmer were our ninth grade teachers. We enjoyed field trips and fun of being in high school. In the tenth grade, Mr. Bare and Mr. Wawon were our teachers. That year we enjoyed giving sock-hops and cutting up cats in Biology. Frances Smith and Vivian Buchanan joined us then. , Mr. Bare and Miss McRae were our sponsors in the eleventh grade. The history class went to Wilmington to see the USS North Carolina. We gave sock-hops, sold magazines and gave a play, -'IEAntics gf Andrew. We also enjoyed planning the Junior-Senior Prom. Finally the moment we've been waiting for arrived, graduation! Mrs. Millikin and Mr. Watson were our senior sponsors. We deeply appreciated their guidance through the year.
