A.: Patrol . 5 N THOMAS WESTFALL Tommy Camera Club Chorus J V Football V G Trac Minstrel Fire Patrol Ziaugfwtaaq We the Semor Class of 1955 w1sh to srncerely thank each member of the faculty who had a part rn guxdrng us through our hrgh school years As we approach our graduatron day the four years just behtnd us wrll be cherrshed memorres for a ltfe txme Our fxrst memory was that of a class of 57 bemg drvrded 1nto two groups One group was under the superv1s1on of Mrs Porter and the other under Mr Campbell Our rnterest was varled tn sports and rn clubs Mtss Edge and Mrss Chrrsuan were the gurdmg l1ghts of our sophomore year The htghlrghts of thls year were that of planmng thlngs together We took part 1n the December Mrnstrel and all sports and clubs We planned a booth 1n the Halloween Carmval We were proud of the Home commg Queen especlally s1nce she was a member of our class Our class had decreased rn number to 38 students By out Junror year both groups became one agarn under the wonderful sponsorshlp of Mr Ph1l11ps We began thrnkmg of our Jun1or and Semor Prom and found we had to make a lot of money We sold candy at basketball games and programs at the football games We planned a sock hop whlch was a huge success We placed our orders for class rtngs We started the preparatron for the Prom The theme was Memorres of Your M1 center The memory of sweet music beauuful new formals and happy faces wrll never be for gotten All the hard work and troubles were behrnd us and so was our Junror year tn school Our Semor year was most excrung and busy To help us wtth our ups and downs we had our sponsor Mrs Forehand who drd a very good Job In the fall of our Semor year we chartered a bus and vtsrted the Un1vets1ty of V1rg1n1a to see a football game between the Unrverslty of Vrrgrma and George Washlngton Un1vers1ty Next came the December Mrnsrtel We were very proud to see our candrdate crowned queen We planned our Rrng Dance tn the Commumty Hall and our sponsor Mrs Forehand presented our rtngs to us 1n a most memorable way We had walted a long trme for thrs moment ln preparatron for June we posed for our Semor prctures We placed our orders for calhng cards 1nv1tat1ons and caps and gowns The Semor play ent1tled Mumbo Jumbo was a success Each of us had a part rn thrs pro ductron not only the cast but those behxnd the scenes helped to make ll a success The producuon was under the drrectlon of Mrs McAfee When we scan the years behrnd us we are grateful for the guldance of the school and faculty Our l1ves have been molded by that envrronment From our past we look forward to Our Tomorrow wtth brrght hopes and happlness recallmg past memorres of our l-hgh School Days By Helen Trexler 17 Q 0 .
