It is a combination of spinning on your back, walking backwards in a forward motion, and various gymnastics. For those who enjoy athletics, the pool was reopened bringing the chance to come and watch the swim team. Also on the athletic side, the football team's helmets were a real smash, while the basketball teams brought the new digital scoreboard to great heights. A confusing change that has left many students lost, has been the new six day schedule. And when you're not busy trying to figure out the new schedule, you can enjoy an evening at home trying out the Cable Channels. Although the High School doesn't seem like a place to hang around, for the last four years, it has been. Whether you are cheering the Marauders onto victory in the stands, working out in the weight room, eating Ring-Dings in the cafe, or just hanging around the D-Wing, DHS is the place to be. Weekends are made for beaching it at Duxbury, heading down the Cape, catching the rays at Endicott Estate, pigging out at McDonald's, or partying at the favored Club Colleran. omvs mnu I 6 . However, past favorites still remain popular. Some perfect examples are, Bruce Springsteen, with his smash album, Born in the U.S.A., Van I-lalen's 1984 and Lionel Richie's Can't Slow Down, which has been on the top of the charts for nearly a year. After struggling in the past, Huey Lewis and the News have risen to fame with their Top Ten album Sports - The newest female sensation, Madonna, has broken into the music industry with songs such as Lucky Star and Borderline. These hits have made her one of the top female acts of the year. One of the most popular groups of the year is Prince and the Revolution. With the success of the movie, Purple Rain, Prince has established himself as the most outrageous male act of the vear. lp' 0 Q 1 X lil., r R 15,1 K 'xc Q I I ' k I - A . .1 'gWHwsnNt'!i 'fQg X5 A. if QXINIHI Jil .1 Q. 1. All these places had their moments With lovers and friends, I still can recall: Some are dead and some are living, In my life, I've loved them all. In My Life But of all these friends and lovers, There is no one compared with you: And these memories lose their meaning. When I think of love as something new. SPORTS:'Q I FCCTBALL The 1984 Maurader Football team finished one of the most memorable seasons in years. The team worked hard under head Coach Bob Lynch and they made their mark as they upset Braintree at home with a final score of 13-8. But without a doubt the biggest highlight of the year was the Thanksgiving Day victory over Norwood. Emotions ran high as players, coaches, and fans realized that the victory was there. As time was running out and Dedham had it's last chance to score, a voice was heard. Oh Cod please have someone open and let them catch the ball- The rest is history. The team pulled it all together in the second half of the season as they broke the string of snake-bitten ties. They went on to qualify for the Eastern Mass. Tournament, for the third year in a row. The Mauraders were impressive in the early rounds of the tour- nament as they put down Franklin and Dover-Sherborn. These vic- tories brought the team to a showdown against Westwood in the quarter finals, which was won after six overtimes and a sudden- death goal. All of those who attended surely had a great time. It was after the meal that the class came alive with everyone dancing to Shout, Kathy Black presents the bouquet to Queen Ruth Garber lay McHugh and Al Sarto 415 FUNDRAISING Although we didn't think it was possi- ble, it happened. We had fun and raised money at the same time. The bowlathon and bikeathon were held a week apart in September and were a great time for all those who participated. Two of the most popular activities held were the Student-Faculty Talent Show and the airband competition. These were both major money-makers for our class. Towels and magazines were a lot easier to sell than we thought and brought not only money but prizes. And who could ever forget the dreaded Iunior raffle? Did you sell your ten tickets?
