school days 1974 - filled with enthusiasm and spirit thoughtful contemplation hope and trusting laughter and loving a school pep run a friday night dance it's September the beginning is good 3 captured individual concentration people: the principle faces behind our story they come to practice, to play, to work on special projects they sit at desks they ask questions they become emeshed in their activities but more important, they strive to learn V V everywhere there are faces . . . some happy some solemn with thought some sad . . . but always they are there faces are mirrors which reflect what we see or windows that let others see in do we know the meaning of faces? do we understand the stories they tell? 6 FAR RIGHT CLOCKWISE: Four Deckerville beauties (Pat Cleland, Cindy Hunt, Ruth Campbell and Che- ryl Crothers) in the courtyard on Fifties Day” dur- ing Spirit Week. Ninth grade enthusiasm is captured during a pep assembly. Math teacher Mr. Brinkman hams-it-up during the staff's Mickey Mouse skit at the close of Spirit Week. All proceeds of the event went to the F.F.A., as members of the organization were awarded numerous tro- phies . SCOREBOARD The Deckerville Eagles got it all together this year and finished sec- ond in their division. The team’s record for the 1973 season was seven wins and three losses. The Eagles played Yale in the playoffs. In overall standings the fighting Eagles placed fourth. The Eagles hosted a selection of good players, among these were: Sid Hamill - All Conference guard and middle line- backer. Sid was also Honorable Mention all state. The team's most val- uable player, Bob Muir, received All Conference defensive tackle. Jim Innes won Honorable Mention all area halfback.
