In 1950, a group of 6U anxious and inquisitive freshmen met in the study hall. Our advisors were Mr. West and Mrs. Felt. Initiation day was the highlight of the year. The leader of our class was Allyn Sloat with Dale Foster as his assistant. Mary Heberlein kept our notes, and Kathleen Harter took care of our money. Betty Greenan and Gerald Weyeneth were our representatives on the student council. Our parties consisted of a gym party for the first semester, and an outdoor party for the second semester. Fifty-six members began our second year of high school. Those who left us were: Art Lancaster, Mildred Willis, George Freeman, Dick Condo, Dale Wagester, Johnny Kester, Ernest Grice, Stuart Moore, Douglas Kenny, and Ella Willis. The newcomers were: Dick Pringle, Carol Neaves, and Elsie Trigger. Mary Heberlein led the class until she moved to Centerline, then her assistant, Jessie Bowling, took her place. Kathleen Harter was our secretary and Irene Pozsgay was our treasurer. June Duncan and Harleigh Pattullo represented our class on the Student Council. Among our activities for this year were a Sadie Hawkins party held at the gym and a party at the lake. We also received our class rings thi3 year. The big events of our junior year were the Junior-Senior prom, Moonlight and Roses, with music by Fritch's Orchestra, and the Junior Play, Bolts and Nuts, under the direction of Mrs. Clinton Bostick. We had two class parties, one was a house party at the home of Mr. West, the other a wiener roast at the lake. We held a few bake sales and sold Christmas cards and stationery. Yvonne Burke joined us this year and Frank Gray and Grace Osentowski were with us for a short time. Those who left us were: Phyllis Abend, Frank Campbell, Jerry Hoffman, Allyn Sloat, Marshall Smith, and Dick Pringle. The class officers were: President, Gerald Weyeneth; Vice President, Dale Foster; Secretary, Jessie Bowling; Treasurer, Richard McEachin; Student Council, Jeanette Williamson and Tom Brady. Our advisors were Mr. West and Mrs. Kniivila. Our senior class was presided over by Bob Detgen with Jessie Bowling as his assistant until she left us. Marjorie McConnachie then took her place. Irene Pozsgay was our secretary and the money was stored by Pauline Parrott. Student Council members were Mary Felk and Don Weyeneth. Advisors were Mr. West and Mr. Willard. Three students joined us this year and three left us. Those who joined were: Frank Gray, Jim Johnston, and Marshall Smith. Those who did not return were: June and Val Duncan, and Eugene Noble. Our senior play, Coveralls was presented in November under the direction of Mrs. Walter Cook. Our senior pictures were received and exchanged before Christmas. We also sold magazine sub- scriptions. Marjorie McConnachie was chosen as Editor-in-Chief of the Annual Staff. We had one class party in the gym. The class anxiously awaited the big day when we went on our senior trip to Chicago and Mackinac Island. Our four years of high school have been completed and as we go out on our own into various walks of life we will strive diligently to achieve our goals for we know that 3uccess Awaits at Labor s Gates. 8 Compliments of Cities Service, Deckerville, Michigan Dell Klaty, Prop.
