DIRECTOR Mrs. Clinton Bostiok Cornelia Heister and her sister Dorthea, are wealthy orphans whose only living relatives are a hillbilly family who run a general store in Lone Mule, Tennessee. Their father-'s will directs that the girls are to spend their sum- mers in Lone Mule or forfeit their share of the fortune. Cyrus Goolus, their uncle, wants to inherit the fortune for himself and trys to scare the girls away by showing them the worst of hillbilly living. They are not discouraged easily and Cyrus, is also engaged in trying to run from two women and the Widow Squiggins who want him to accompany one of them to the hoedown. Finally Cornelia begins to realize that maybe hillbilly life 1sn't so bad after all. Through experiences she discovers her uncle's designs on her money. Then she and Dot go all out for the hillbilly life and even show Cy a thlng or two. What happens to Uncle Cy when they get through with him should.n't happen to a dog!
