JU IOR CLASS PRGPHECY On our 10th Class reunion, we decided to look up our old upper class-mates and faculty of 1955-56. On that day there happened to be a carnival in town. After thinking it over, we decided to go look around. As we were walking along we saw a tent, which had a sign on it that read Fortune- -Teller, Although we don't believe in fortune tellers, we decided to go in. To our surprise, we found the teller to be none other than Mrs. Baird, our class sponsor. We asked her if she knew anything about our friends. She said she didn't, but maybe she could locate them through her crystal ball. As she looked she told us she saw our former principal, Mr. Joseph Powell. He was principal at Indianapolis Tech. As the crystal ball got clearer she saw he was handing out toothbrushes, especially made for scrubbing stairs, to his students who had been chewing gum. We asked Mrs. Baird if we could borrow her crystal ball for a while. As we looked, it appeared blurred at first, but when it cleared we recognized our old classmate, Grace Doades now Grace Beamon. As we gazed a little deeper into the crystal ball, we saw she was living on Orville Hill, in a little shanty, with nine curly-headed little kids and a bewildered husband wondering around outside. This vision began to fade out, and the ball then focused on our friend Linda Anthis, still unmarried and still waiting for a certain red-headed government teacher. Next we saw our old friend, Nancy Esarey, She was still going with Don Ellerrnan. Don had just asked her if she wanted something to eat and she said no, to his amazement he heard a great hunger pain. Once again through the aid of our crystal ball, we were able to see our former government teacher Mr. James Mullican, still unmarried and running for President of the United States, though he did have in the background a light-headed secretary who looked familiar, however, we won't mention any names. As we were leaving the fortune-teller we passed a tent that said side show, We decided to linger a while. To our amazement when the show started, our old friend Bernice Anthis was one of the fan dancers. In the middle of her act she lost her fan---poor Bernice! As we were leaving the side-show, we suddenly heard music. As it came closer, we dis- covered it was a band, led by our former band director, Mrs. Evelyn Phillips.
