In testimony whereof, we have in the presence of witnesses, published, signed, and sealed this will and declared it to be our last will and statement, this 7th day of March, 1956. Signed: SENIORS OF 1956. Witnesses: James S. Mullican Charles C. Davis JU IOR CLASS PRGPHECY On our 10th Class reunion, we decided to look up our old upper class-mates and faculty of 1955-56. On that day there happened to be a carnival in town. After thinking it over, we decided to go look around. As we were walking along we saw a tent, which had a sign on it that read Fortune- -Teller, Although we don't believe in fortune tellers, we decided to go in. To our surprise, we found the teller to be none other than Mrs. Baird, our class sponsor. We asked her if she knew anything about our friends. She said she didn't, but maybe she could locate them through her crystal ball. As she looked she told us she saw our former principal, Mr. Joseph Powell. He was principal at Indianapolis Tech. As the crystal ball got clearer she saw he was handing out toothbrushes, especially made for scrubbing stairs, to his students who had been chewing gum. We asked Mrs. Baird if we could borrow her crystal ball for a while. As we looked, it appeared blurred at first, but when it cleared we recognized our old classmate, Grace Doades now Grace Beamon. As we gazed a little deeper into the crystal ball, we saw she was living on Orville Hill, in a little shanty, with nine curly-headed little kids and a bewildered husband wondering around outside. This vision began to fade out, and the ball then focused on our friend Linda Anthis, still unmarried and still waiting for a certain red-headed government teacher. Next we saw our old friend, Nancy Esarey, She was still going with Don Ellerrnan. Don had just asked her if she wanted something to eat and she said no, to his amazement he heard a great hunger pain. Once again through the aid of our crystal ball, we were able to see our former government teacher Mr. James Mullican, still unmarried and running for President of the United States, though he did have in the background a light-headed secretary who looked familiar, however, we won't mention any names. As we were leaving the fortune-teller we passed a tent that said side show, We decided to linger a while. To our amazement when the show started, our old friend Bernice Anthis was one of the fan dancers. In the middle of her act she lost her fan---poor Bernice! As we were leaving the side-show, we suddenly heard music. As it came closer, we dis- covered it was a band, led by our former band director, Mrs. Evelyn Phillips. She told us that she and her band had played at the Mardi Gras the year before. She also told us that the band had just been asked to play at the President's inaugaration, We congradulated her, and told her we had to be on our way, As we were leaving the carnival ground. We saw a racing motorist, driving a black '48 Chevy truck, coming toward us. As we watched, we realized it was none other than Kenneth Leffler. As he spun around a corner we heard him shout Watch her dig! Watch her dig! When he finally got stopped, and took off his goggles and helmet, he told us he was thinking about entering the 500 next year. He told us to look at his tracks, but when we looked we saw nothing, his excuse was that the wind and duals on the truck had erased them, We asked Kenneth if he knew where we could find our old friend and classmate Bob Snider. He said he didn't, but the last time he saw him, he was still running over to Decker to see Donna Sue, but they hadn't set the wedding date. As we were going toward D C H S we saw an old whiteheaded lady, when we looked closer we discovered it was none other then Mrs. Pauletta Litherland, our former first-grade teacher, She was in her gay nineties, she told us she had quit D C because the boys asked her for dates. The next day being Monday, we decided to spend the day at school. As we drove up .we saw an old bald-headed man in a 54 Chevy. The car still had last year's license plates. When we looked closer we discovered it was Mr. Hobert Colvin, the former 5th and 6th grade teacher, Since we were near the assembly, we saw a bald-headed man. We heard him say, Alright you guys, knock it off, When he turned toward us, we discovered it was none other than Mr. Charles Davis, our former Agriculture teacher. As we were walking down the hall, we were almost knocked down by a short. old man, although he was in his advanced years, he had black curly hair. When we recovered from our shock, we discovered it was Mr. Don Palmer.- He told us he was no longer coach at old D C H S but was coach at Indiana University, Home on vacation. Illinois State University had just beat them 107-47 which reminded him of the wonderful days at dear old D C H S. Our journey over, we each went our individual ways. 2 W..
