BAND—A Hard Working, Good Musical Organization In the fall of the year the band, as well as everything else at D.H.S. comes back to life after the summer’s vacation, and this year was no exception. It started with a bang as the band provided the pre-game and between-half mu¬ sical entertainment at football games, plus marching maneuvers. Following shortly were the various other an¬ nual performances; namely, the band trip to the Bluffton Street Fair, the basketball games, dur¬ ing which it provided frequent special num¬ bers, the Calithumpian Parade, and the Christ¬ mas program. In March the band traveled to Berne for the third consecutive combined concert with Berne and Bluffton. This involved one hard night of combined practice, but the experience was well worth it. On April 24, the Band joined with the Choir and Art Department in presenting the Fine Arts Festival. This was the last activity of this school year. It is sincerely hoped that all the members, except the seniors, will be back next fall with even more spirit and enthusiasm. 24

The Christmas program this year was, in general, a repeat of that of former years. With changes in reader and characters it is the same story of the Christ Child diat appeals to people year after year. Minor changes were made, but the story remained the same. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM Solemn and Impressive 26
