Student Council Helps Make a Good School Better The Student Council with its sole objective being that of making Decatur High School a better school began having weekly meetings as soon as it was possible last fall. Before the council could begin on its job of bettering the school it was necessarv to elect the following officers: president, Steve Edwards; vice-presi¬ dent, Bill Jacobs; secretary, Barbara Burk. In order to make D.H.S. a cleaner school the council voted t o continue the hall check from the previous year. Each day a survey was made OFFICERS Barbara Burk, secy.; Steve Edwards, pres.; Amos Ketchum, faculty advisor; Bill Jacobs, vice-president. One of the council’s main activities was that of reducing the number of persons tardy each day. This situation was partially remedied by the posting of a graph each week showing the number of tardinesses per class. The Student Council, although still compara¬ tively young, is growing in stature every year with the last year certainly being no exception.
