They were as follows: president, John Cowan; vice-president, Stu Knodel; secretary, Taya Erekson; and treasurer, Tom Grabill. We also elected Mr. Jom ' nay as our class sponsor. Three freshmen were represented in the Student Council. They were Grace Kelsey, John Patterson, and John Cowan. The freshman class got a big kick sponsoring the dance The Beehive Bounce after one of the basketball games. Two freshmen girls— Sidney Beery and Taya Erekson— were elected as cheerleaders for the second team. Several Latin I students received certificates of excellence on their tests. The freshman basketball team won seven and lost nine of their games under coach Mr. F. Reed. 28

Yes, they ' ve finally let us out of dear old Lincoln. After about two weeks of being governmentless we elected the following officiers: president, Dennis Ahr; vice-president, Joe McNerney; secretary, Jean Finlayson; and treasurer, Judy Tutewiler. This year Dennis Ahr, Joe McNerney and Jean Finlayson served on the Student Counciil. We wish to commend them on the fine job they did. After an unfortunate football season (0 wins and 2 losses) the boys really put out in basketball. They had a record of 16 wins and 4 losses. They lost the City Series but won in a tourney held at Decatur. Many eighth graders are on the honor roll and we would like to congratulate these people on then- good work during the year. 30
