SENIOR CLASS In September, 69 of us entered the ever familiar doors of the Decatur Jr.-Sr. High School to begin our final year of high school education. We elected class officers and a sponsor. President — Fred Schott Vice-President — Paul Schmidt Secretary — Lorraine ' alters Treasurer — Tonv Kelly Sponsor — Miss Vera In November we worked hard on the Student Day Sale, which turned out to be verv success- ful. In January, we were privileged to witness a naturalization ceremony at the Courthouse as part of our Civics and Sociology classes. On February 1.3, we visited the State House at Indianapolis. This trip was verv educational and enjoyable. May 17 meant the Junior-Senior Prom. The juniors did a wonderful job of planning and decorating around the theme, Calypso. ' They made the Prom something that all the seniors will remember. Our Baccalaureate services were held on the following Sunday. Finally May 2.3 and the big night toward which all of us had been working. Commence- ment, arrived. We heard a challenging speech by Rev. Robert B. Pierce, Minister of the Broad- way Methodist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Helm presented the seniors with their di- plomas. The Commencement dance followed after graduation. After the dance entertainment was provided throughout the night hv various organizations of the city. Each senior has many wonderful memories of his high school career at good old D. H. S.
