You can have your other means of trans- portation, but the Sophomores of '55-56' will depend on their Model T. They really put on the brakes to choose their class officers and came up with: President: Fred Locke Vice President: John Hebble Secretary: Carolyn Drake Treasurer: Jane Wass Sponsor: Mr. Cobb They also had David Eichenauer, Gordon Black and Fred Locke as representatives on .the Student Council. With Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Everhart to give the push which our Ford needed at that time, We journeyed to Chi- cago for a very interesting class trip. Our Model T. stopped at the Youth Center during the football season to sponsor a dance, '1Autumn Leavesf' and during the basketball season to sponsor the Leap Year Leap. We really picked up gas money from these events. Our Model T. this year was honored by its outstanding passengers. Many of the boys made football and basketball history this year. Three of our girls were the second team basketball cheerleaders. Others participated in various school organizations and clubs. As the Sophomores are quite a brainy group, Qyou'll see their names on the honor rollj our engine always ran smoothly. Our Ford came to a halt this year when eight girls and boys Were chosen to serve at the Junior Pro.m. We'll be back again next year though, and really make Decatur proud of our Model T. 25
