In our freshman year we started like a bicycle rider, wavering under the glance of those mighty seniors. High school surely was different from junior high school. Man, these high school teachers like to give assignments! By the time we became sophomores, we had our feet on the ground floor land some of us on the basement floor in Mr. Dailey's 8th period classy. That year we didn't want to get back to school, but the first few weeks were like a few cranks to start our Model T on the academic road. A few of our number were lucky to serve at the J unior-Senior Prom. Miss Weidler served as our conductor on that streamlined junior year. This year our class athletes began to show on the varsity teams. It was quite an experience to cross over to Canada, while on our trip to Detroit. Our junior train had many stops, but we really t'rodded the rails between stops. Over the Rainbow was the name of the Junior-Senior Prom, which everyone enjoyed. Well, this is it-our senior year. First off, we elected officers and a spon- sor. They are President, Ralph Thomas3 Vice-President, Shirley Wass3 Sec- retary, Jackie J amesg Treasurer, Wayne Florag and Sponsor, Miss Vera. As we were about to climb aboard the jet plane that whizzed us through our last two se.mesters, some of us were glad and some sad, but it was over much, much too soon. Our passage at the speed of sound nearly blotted out the music of the two dances we sponsored after ball games. We didn't travel too fast however to take time out to take part in the Spring Revue, Flying High. On May ll the juniors entertained us at a wonderful prom, Deep Purple, and what fun we had at our senior party, with its western theme and real Cowboys and Indi'ans3 or almost real. Baccalaureate serv- ices on May 20 brought us down to a realization that it was about over. Our Commencement speaker delivered an impressive address to us at Com- mencement, After the dance we enjoyed several parties. At last we have broken through the sound barrier and now we face the life that D.H.S. has prepared us for. We shall never forget D.H.S. and we shall always con- sider ourselves fortunate to be graduates of D.H.S.
