Sept. 5. Dear Diary, today found 95 eighth graders starting their sec- ond year at D.H.S. full of pep and eagerness to have more good time with their teachers and fellow class- mates. Oct. 17. Dear Diary, we elected our class officers this month. They were Susan Gerber, president, Fred Locke, vice-president, Kathy Cole, secretary, and Janalee Smith, treasur- er. We elected Mr. Daily our class sponsor. Jan. 21. Dear Diary, we are very proud of our Jr. High basketball team. Nine of the boys on the team are eighth graders. They are Ty Ballard, Bob Banks, Jim Baumgartner, David Eichenauer, Ted Hutker, Fred Locke, Larry Moses, Wayne Myers, and Tom Strickler. Jan. 24. Dear Diary, two of the four junior high yell-leaders, were eighth graders. They were Susie Cus- ter and Emily Swearingen. Feb. 7. Dear Diary, this month, as usual, there are many eighth grade names on the honor roll. March 20. Dear Diary, Susan Hel- ler, Fred Locke, and the class presi- dent, represent the eighth grade in the Student Council. May 21. Dear Diary, we had our class party tonight. Dear Diary, today we seventh graders, proud and full of an- ticipation, made our first appearance in the halls of D.H.S. with our jour- ney on the long path of education well begun. Ninety-four eager students were now ready to tackle new teach- ers and new subjects. Sept. 26. Dear Diary, after a lot of friendly competition we elected the following officers: Betsy Burk, presi- dent, Jim Corah, vice-president: Cheryl Ashbaucher, secretary, and Bob Shraluka, treasurer. Oct. 3. Dear Diary, the Student Council has three seventh graders as members: Patty Girod, Ann Kocher, and the class president. Oct. 16. Dear Diary, the report cards are out, and we are happy to announce that eighteen seventh grad- ers made the honor roll. Nov. 15. Dear Diary, we have six boys that made the Junior High basketball team-Bob Shraluka, Bill Bracy, Leroy Ratcliff. Steve Dellinger, Tony Vegara, and Gene Krick. Two of the yell-leaders-Betty Smith and Patty Girod-are from the seventh grade. May 27. Dear Diary, we have had a lot of fun during our seventh grade year.
