Glee Club . . v7e are lovers of music and cultivate its art so devotedly because it is one of the greatest powers to surround our life with charm and beauty. Life for young and old takes on a richness of purpose, a tender- ness of love, and a warmth of understand- ing when it is enriched with music and song. The art of music is the sunshine for a more abundant life. It is for this reason that more than sixty students of this school found it a pleasure and privilege to gather for Glee Club re- hearsal three hours each week under the capable direction of Miss Helen Haubold. Much time and willing devotion was al- so given by the accompanists, Marelyn Schultz and Richard Saylors, to aid in the success of this undertaking. Twenty members of this combined group were given the opportunity to sing in the Northeastern Indiana All-District Chorus at the Teacher ' s Convention in October. Early in November the Glee Club pre- sented its annual concert. It was given in the high school auditorium and was enthusi- astically favored with a capacity audience. A dance sponsored by the Glee Club and the Commercial Club was held March 22. Everyone had a very enjoyable time. The musical review, America Sings, presented on April 11 and 12, was a grand success. The Baccalaureate services for the grad- uating class was enriched by appropriate selections from this singing group. And then came the Commencement Exercises when these song lovers made their final appearance in splendid form and true no- bility. Oh, How We Love Our Dear Old D. H. S. was not just the usual song of de- parture, but to the Glee Club it signified appreciation and high regard for the school that so richly taught and gave them also the power o: : music.
