H. S. The whole stati has worked as hard as it could to put out the best book possible and in doing so has educated itself in the responsibilities of a publisher. All of us have gained a general knowledge of such impor- tant phases of publishing as engraving, printing, and organizing material for a yearbook. Many students not pictured gained a new experience in writing articles for the book. Twelve

hysteria when we won the blind tourney by one point and were defeated, also by one point, in the sectional tourney. All winter long we tramped faithfully through rain, snow, and sleet to support our players. We even pleaded tearfully with boys who had auto- mobiles to take us to the out-of-town games. (If anyone ever tells you that a man can ' t resist a woman ' s tears, don ' t believe him.) Where there ' s a will, there ' s a way, however, and many of us managed to attend most of the out-of-town games. Our contributions to the year ' s social activities were a combination Valentine party and dance and a hayride. We enjoyed the activities immensely this year and are confident that the up-and-coming under- classmen will continue to lend their full support to our various athletic activities Top Picture, Bottom Roiv: Mai-gene Bauer. ,INGS BUSINESS MANAGERS Karl Kolter Medford Smith Mary Leitz SNAPSHOT EDITORS Dale Smitley Jerry Ketchum ART EDITORS Hubert Feasel SPORT EDITORS Tom Ahr Ted Hill Joan Cowan It has been the policy of Decatur High School to let its students manage the publishing of the year- book, and this policy has been carried out to no less degree this year than before. However, all the Staff heartily agree that the assistance of Miss Worthman, Staff Advisor and director of the af- fairs of business, Mr. Smith, director of photog- raphy, Mr. Hetrick, typing director, and Miss Weidler, proofreader, were invaluable. We of the Staff hope the splotlight has given you a clearer picture of D. H. S. and that its beam may never fade from your memory.
