MATH EMATICS Each year the enrollment in the mathematics department becomes larger as the importance of mathematics becomes more evident. Our school otters tvvo years in algebra, one of which is required, one year in plane geometry, onefhalf year in solid geometry, one halt in trigo- noinetry, and one half year in business arithmetic. Miss Smith teaches firstsyear Algebra, Miss Eich teaches all other mathematics, except one class in business arithmetic taught by Miss Pope. Besides the practical uses ot mathematics and the foundation for advanced study, instruction in these courses develops quick and analytic thinking and appreciation at the beauty of geometric form. SCIENCE The Science Department offers chemistry, physics, and biology, three very important and practical courses. All science classes are taught by Mr. Moody, except one class in biology taught by Mr. Jordan. These courses are so taught that they not only prove in- valuable to students who later attend college, but are practical in every day life. Through the use of experiments and charts, the funda- mental laws of science are impressed on each student.

OCCUPATIONAL SCIENCE The Occupational Science department consists of commercial courses, home eco- nomics, and diversified occupations. Instructions in the commercial courses enable one to go from high school into a secretarial iob. In the three years of home economics offered, one can get instructions in the art of housekeeping. Diversified occupations helps to prepare a student for his vocation while he is in school. t-le has part-time work.
