sh' M , 1' J ,KM ' 5 David Hauck, a senior here, has successfully completed four years of high school and is gradu- ating with a 4.25 grade average. The remarkable thing about this is he is blind. The only other problem he has in his situation is the social aspects. Actually, he lives in Eisen- hower District but attends Stephen Decatur be- cause he receives his materials from Gastman School. Therefore, getting to school functions, such as games, is a problem. Also it seems that kids who do not understand his situation seem somewhat aloof. Naturally, as a Freshman he had some problem getting around but now knows the school like the back of his hand. David has quite an outgoing personality. He is concerned about student government and loyalty to the school. David is extremely sensitive to peopleis reactions and wants to help them rather than depend on others. David is a friendly person whose sense of humor makes it a pleasure to talk to him. David wants to attend the University of Illinois and would like to enter the field of vocational re- habilitational counseling so he can return all the help that has been given to mef' ' .110 J M f gms 1
