BOARD CF EDUCATION Frank Walker, Mrs. Lucy Oplinger, Lester I. Grant, Superintendent of Schools, Otto C. Keil, President. The Board of Education ot Decatur High School District No. Bl, like the thousands ot other boards ot education, is charged with the responsibility of seeing to it that a good common school education is provided tor all the chil- dren ot the district. The Board is the legal authority through which the people speak. lt determines the policies under which the schools operate. The respon- sibility tor carrying out the policies is delegated to the Superintendent who is employed by the Board. He also counsels with the Board in policy making. Membership on the Board is a responsibility which requires much ot those Who serve. Decatur is fortunate to have members who can and do give Will- ingly of their time, thought, and energy to provide the best possible scl'iools for our community. 44 14 rr
