Marcia would rather marry Todd Galloway but Mrs. Reardon doesn't approve of him because he is poor. Mr. Reardon would rather tinker with automobiles than worry about who his dauahter marries and his mother, called Nana by the family, disapproves of the Parkers and won't encouraqe the weddina in any way so Mrs. Reardon decides it is up to her to arranae the marriaqe She invites Sherwin and his parents to visit them. Mr. and Mrs. Parker are very proud of their ancestors and do not want Sherwin to marry into any family who doesnt have a record of illustrious forefathers. But Mr. Parker wants to merae his business with Mr. Rear- dons so the Parkers aaree to visit the Reardons and complete the plans for the weddinq, ln order to impress the Parkers favorably Mrs. Reardon warns her younger children, Larry and Penelope, and the maid Essie to be on their qood behavior. Everythina aoes as planned until cousin Lily arrives lt seems the Reardons have two cousins whose name is Lily. One Lily, who is quite a character, had been sent a weddina invitation but she really wasnt wanted at the weddina. The other Lily, a beautiful youna girl who wants to be an actress, does come. Since none of the Reardons except Nana knows that the Lily who is stayina with them is the respectable one, Nana persuades her to keep the secret and act the part of the other Lily. She realizes that when the Parkers catch siaht of the skeleton in the Reardon closet, namely Lily, they will be only too anxious tc break off all relations with the Reardons. Nana's plan works and Mr, and Mrs. Parker hurriedly leave, takina Sherwin with them. The family foraives Nana after she tells them about her little plot and about cousin Lily. Laura Reardon finally realizes she should let Marcia marry for love, not money, and agrees to marriaae with Todd. if 169 PP Everu Familu Has Une PRODUCTION Business Managers - lohn McDonald, Bobert Watters Stage Crew - Manager, Charles Leese, Crew Members: Isabel Bering, lean Spangler, Beryl Matin, Beverly Heinzel- mann, Beverly Logan, Beverly Roberts, Patricia O'Byrne, Dale Kenyon, Dave Milligan, Delmar Behrns, Richard Mort- weet Play Committee - Chairman, Yolanda Wnorowskig Members: Dorothy Schwartz, Stanley lones, Edwin Cles- son, Henry Williams Make-up he Miss Helen Gorham, Miss Helen Stapp, Mrs. Esther Fry, lean Myers, loan Bielefeld Set Properties -- loyce Larrick, Carolyn Duncan DirectorvMiss Doris Crader Kl702 ,cZVc,44,U X,-A, K ,efL.,oa,!1,a,L f,f741,4,,mb,7 few 04, ffff , Q- QQ , Q 10-mfj s I Q M Q uf ski m 3 k A Qs-ix ','i:f:fi45s f- Q QSEEFLQNEQ giiisglfg . ,Y , Y ' X' , W .,, .Q :WX Eaifiym gy 01,4 1? 1 fix: ':5 X ggvx 8'5yQfT'f5-Riagg' X J O J Vp' ff ff HQVA' T f A ff 4 i g g g 'P Aus 19,18-nRE6nS1RhTa0n . f 531. By winning 8 out of their 9 games the Reds set a school record and tied for third place in the Big 12. Art Bergstroms team with its big rangy line, that averaged l88 pounds, and its powerful, driving backfield, collected 226 to its opponents 84 points. GEORGE NEY Manager Dick Halliburton scored 52. Iohn Boyle, an able passer, quarterbacked the team. The team started off the season by con- quering Cathedral 26-U, and Pana 26-14. Then came the one downfall, losing to Mattoon 26-6, but they came right back to take Georgetown 28-6. The Reds really stepped into the swing of things and tromped Springfield 33-6, the highest score Decatur's made against Spring- field in 27 years. Urbana fell 28-7, Quincy 20-O, Peoria Central 29-19, and then the Reds finished the season with a 2U-7 victory over Blooming- ton, thus ending the best year of Decatur High football a team has ever seen.
