They also have many requirements they have to live up to. Then there's Mr. and Miss DI-IS. This is any girl and boy picked from grades 7-12. They are picked by popularity and what they've done for the school. Junior Miss is another proud title to hold. You represent your school at the district contest and then some get to go on to the state pageant. For this you are chosen on talent, leadership, grades, appearance, physical fitness, poise, and personality. This year's Senior High Football Team started off with a bang this season beating Elkins, Colcord, and Mountainburg. They just didn't seem to come out ahead in some other games even though they played superb football. The team played hard and hustled all year and we are very proud of our team and coach!! The team developed some fine players this year with all the seniors, juniors, and most of the sopho- mores on the main team. Decatur will have most of it's team back again next year and will surely have another fine team. We owe a lot of credit to the seniors who were the team leaders and gave the team alot of spirit. We will hate to see them go this year. THE BULLDOGS DE VELOPED BLUE PRIDE The Decatur High School Bulldogs were all pride this year. The boys played a few games away from home to start the 1970-71 season off. This was good be- cause it gave the Boys time enough to get used to the gym. The opening night in the new gym was a real thiller, but the Bulldogs came up a little short as Cedar- ville took home a 47 -43 victory. By the time the Homecoming came around the Boys were rolling right along and to prove it they won the game with a 81-40 victory over Farmington. At one time during the season the Bulldogs supported a 10 game winning streak. All together, Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores and Coach have worked to develope the pride of the Blue. There will be five Seniors leaving the team this year but this shouldn't stop the Bulldogs next year from having another great year as they have had this year. They know what its like to win and they like it. The leaving Seniors will be missed and all the Boys will remember them.
