ASW i One of our primary mission areas is countering the menace of enemy submarines. Anti-sub- marine warfare has progressed a long Way from the days of the underwater listening devices and depth charges. ASROC, coupled with our standard torpedo tubes and the SOS sonar truly make us an effective deterrent to enemy oper- ations. Though much of the STC's, TlVl's, and CMC's time is spent in preparation for NTPI's and the like, they still put in long hours watching the sonar scope and maintaining their gear.
