Dear Diary, In reminiscence, we recall seeing at the start of the school, 43 new freshmen faces in the halls of D.C.H.S. These new faces were welcomed by every student, for in no time they were a part of us. They chose as their class officers: president, Derry Bishopg vice-president, Evan Moody and secretary and treasurer, Jim Miesner. They have done well to carry on successful class meetings. Their spon- sors are Mrs. Gertrude Railsback and Mr. Lloyd Moody. Many of the freshmen have gone out for sports, even though they are too small to play. With determination and growth they will someday make the first team. The girls have been taking a wide in- terest in home economics. They have sewed, cooked and even served at various banquets. Agriculture seems to be a favorite of the freshmen boys. Other subjects that claimed freshmen were world history, algebra, general science, Spanish and speech. A big event of the year was the fresh- men party which was held at the shelter house in honor of one of their classmates, Barbara Edwards, who was leaving for California. 6
