CY! -up Dean Thornberr , sponsor, and Rome Osborn, principal, discuss senior class activities. CLASS HISTORY We, the class of l958, have come a long way since entering high school four years ago. We have seen many new fads, ideas and inventions come and ga during these years. The fall of i954 saw us, the freshmen, initiated into high school routine. It was real torture during those first few weeks trying to discover what room to go with what subject, but we soon had this confusion under control. A great discovery by Dr. Jonas Salk was tested for the first time during this year. We have seen the Salk Polio Vaccine become accepted and used extensively. As sophomores we anticipated the many activities of our junior year. CLASS HISTORY We saw the Brooklyn Dodgers win the National League Pennant from the New York Yankees as our junior year began. New to our school that year was the inter- communications system given us by the P.T.A. A big thrill came when we received our class rings with the outstanding feature of the symbolic Hawk in the center. One of the most difficult obstacles of that year was our research papers. Many long hours were spent in gathering information at the public libraries. Jay Atkinson set a good example for the juniors of the future with 72 pages on the subject of mythology. In order to raise the funds for the Junior-Senior Prom, we sold magazine subscriptions. Best salesman was Fred Schellenberg. The theme for the prom at Indiana University Medical Center was Lilac Time . Joe Spencer and his band provided the dance music. THE SENIOR CLASS JOE KEEN Transfer Ben Davis 25 Track 2-35 Choir 2-3.
