Varsity season was filled with many bright spots. Our record— three wins, four losses, and one tie— is not truly representative of the grid- iron season. Determination jnd spirit highlighted the Pioneers ' efforts. Captain Mike Padgett anchored the D.H.S. de- fense with crunching tackles and all-around good play. Every player contributed a maximum effort in each game, and four Pioneers ' gained All-City recognition. We hope that the future football teams of Dearborn High exhibit the same energy as the 1962 squad displayed. Flanker Daryl Parks leaps to snare a pass from the outstretched hands of an Ypsilanti defender. Halfback Jack Radcliffe scampers around left end against a stout Edsel Ford defense. 66 Varsity Coaches B. Bridges, E. Lanzi, and R. Ryan analyze the team ' s play and plan strategy.
